Universal Orlando Announces High-Speed Indoor Roller Coaster for Epic Universe
Cinematic Chills Meet High-Speed Engineering
Universal Orlando Resort is expanding its thrill ride portfolio with a brand-new indoor roller coaster at the upcoming Epic Universe theme park. This high-speed attraction represents the latest evolution in immersive storytelling and engineering for the Florida destination. The ride is scheduled to debut alongside the massive new park expansion.
The announcement highlights Universal's aggressive strategy to dominate the theme park industry with cutting-edge technology. This indoor coaster will offer a controlled environment where lighting, sound, and speed combine for a unique sensory experience. It serves as a cornerstone for the new park's diverse lineup of attractions.
The resort is not just focusing on the new park, as existing areas are also receiving significant upgrades. Universal Studios Florida will soon host a reimagined version of the classic Horror Make-Up Show. This updated attraction will feature a collaboration with Blumhouse, the powerhouse studio behind modern horror hits.
How Will the New Coaster Change the Guest Experience?
By integrating contemporary film brands into live shows, the resort aims to bridge the gap between cinema and physical experiences. The Blumhouse partnership promises to bring a darker, modern edge to the long-running show. Visitors can expect a blend of practical special effects and digital storytelling starting later this year.
The addition of an indoor thrill ride allows the park to operate high-intensity experiences regardless of Florida’s unpredictable weather. While outdoor coasters often close during storms, this new attraction ensures that the adrenaline remains constant. It also provides a canvas for more elaborate visual effects that require total darkness.
This coaster is part of a broader wave of development that includes multiple themed lands and innovative hospitality options. As Epic Universe nears completion, the resort is positioning itself as a multi-day destination capable of rivaling any global entertainment hub. The focus remains on high-capacity rides that push the boundaries of speed and immersion.
