Every Nonstop From Philadelphia Airports to Florida This Winter, From Trenton to Wilmington
While PHL remains the busiest airport
A significant re-configuration of the routes has brought Philadelphia passengers increased opportunities for non-stop travel to Florida during the months of December through February. This winter, the sixth time, a total of 16 Florida destinations will be directly accessible, up from the previous season. This expansion of options is mainly due to the intervention of budget airlines such as Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways and Allegiant Air, which have taken over the space left open.

American Airlines Introduces Michelin‑Starred Dining Experiences for AAdvantage Members Starting 2027The analysis collected by TheTravel, based on Cirium data, indicates that the airports in the Philadelphia area - namely Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN), Wilmington Airport (ILG), Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) and Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) - will offer a wide range of entertainment destinations in Florida. Despite a general decrease in the volume of flights over the 90-day period (December-February), the winter air network became more diversified with the introduction of new direct destination pairs.
In the previous season, between December 2025 and January 2026, the calendar envisaged 6,768 flights during that period. In comparison, for the coming winter, an estimated 6,554 flight services will be available. This difference represents a decrease of 3,2%, an impact that was felt most strongly at the six airports that lost Spirit Airlines operations.
While PHL remains the busiest airport in the state of Pennsylvania, a slight decrease in traffic of 2.7% is anticipated this winter. Now, PHL will have 11 direct destinations in Florida, which translates into an average of 57 daily departures to Florida, down from 58 the previous year.
The airport in Atlantic City (ACY) is experiencing a notable difficulty, recording the largest reduction in total flight operations this season. The reduction in the flight schedule between December and February is 34,2%. Accordingly, an average of four flights per day to Florida are planned, as opposed to almost seven in the same period in previous years.
The impact of eliminating Spirit Airlines was
In contrast, Wilmington (ILG) airport, Delaware, is the one with the largest increase in winter flights. The Avelo operations will introduce a 42.5% increase in flights, providing four daily departures to Florida, compared to only three in the previous period.
The impact of eliminating Spirit Airlines was substantial, cancelling a total of 990 flights in the Philadelphia area to Florida during the winter. The PHL lost 435 flights (about five per day), and the ACY lost 555 flights (about six per day). In addition, the Commission considers that the airport's capacity to operate in the Union is not limited to airlines operating in the Union, but to airlines operating in the Union.
Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) will serve eight direct routes to Florida. Breeze Airways will add new flights to Fort Myers (RSW) and Vero Beach (VRB), and Allegiant will expand its presence with services to Orlando Sanford (SFB). The increase of 42,5% in Wilmington comes from the introduction of direct routes by Avelo to Daytona Beach (DAB) and Lakeland (LAL).
Breeze has taken a prominent position in Atlantic City, providing five routes to Florida, providing access to the state's major attractions including Orlando (MCO), Fort Myers, Palm Beach (DJT), Tampa (TPA), and Vero Beach. While Lehigh Valley (ABE) will cover eight destinations in the Sunshine States, including Melbourne (MLB) on the Florida Space Coast.
In conclusion, this winter, Philadelphia passengers have 16 non-stop destinations available in Florida. This diversity, fueled by budget airlines at regional airports, provides direct access to several unique secondary airports in Florida, improving the travel experience to the warm climate. This reorganisation underlines the capacity of smaller airports to offset withdrawals from major hubs.
